Purpose of a Funeral

Since recorded history, man has been holding funerals for their dead. Even though funerals may change over time, the meaning behind funerals remain constant: It is a significant service of remembrance and celebration that a life that has been lived. The meaning behind today's funerals not only reflect upon the life of the deceased, it offers an opportunity for the living to express their grief over the loss and to share this sorrow among their family and friends. A funeral, however, is not so much of an event for the dead as it is a process for the living. In time, as the survivors gain strength and, with hope, ultimately accept the death, this period of loss – however severe the adjustment – is a new beginning in life.

To help families through this process, we can provide our clients with a full and complete range of service options that reflect their personal needs and religious beliefs and familial traditions and customs.
