Mrs. Marjorie M. Schmidt Saginaw, Michigan Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022, at the age of 86 years. Marjorie (Andrews) Schmidt was born on November 8, 1935, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to the late Michael and Alice (Smith) Andrews. She was married to Paul H. Schmidt on November 19, 1955, in Saginaw, Michigan, where he survives her. She is also survived by her children and their spouses, Paul Schmidt and his wife Kelly Schmidt, Alice Griffin and her husband Chris Griffin, Marian Brewster and her husband Derrick Brewster, Eugene Schmidt and his wife Cathy Schmidt; grandchildren, Cori Dumbra, Steven Schmidt, Ryan Schmidt, Julie May, Richard May, Eugene Schmidt, Jennifer Schmidt, Cole Schmidt, Shannon McNeil, Jessica Rubey, Tyler Griffin, Terri Slaydaugh, Brandy Nugent, Zachary Griffin, Adam Brewster, Maxwell Brewster; great-grandchildren, Meghan Dumbra, Alyssa Dumbra, Kamryn Dumbra, Trevor Schmidt, Caleb Schmidt, Jamie May, Jason May, Emmett Schmidt, Enzo Schmidt, Ella Little, Cole Schmidt, Danielle Harris, Charlie McNeil, Jase Rubey, Daymon Griffin; her sisters, Shirley Mendoskin and Joanne Black; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. Marjorie was also predeceased by her son, Michael Schmidt and her great-grandson, Colton Schmidt, her siblings, Mildred Henry, Michael Andrews Jr, Loreen Causley, Kenneth Andrews, Nina Eckart, Kathleen Landreville and Glenn Andrews. Her hobbies and pastimes included sewing, feeding her chickens, tending to her tomato plants, trips to McDonald’s for Coke with no ice, gator riding through her farm, caring and raising all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and especially keeping all the Schmidt’s in line. The family has planned for a gathering on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Wakeman Funeral Home, 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, MI. Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with her memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. In accordance with family wishes, cremation will follow.
