DAWN RENEE VARGAS Saginaw, Michigan Our Heavenly Father called Dawn home on Monday, September 12, 2022, from Covenant - Cooper. She was 55 years old. Dawn Renee (Wetherbee) Vargas was born on April 16, 1967, in Saginaw, Michigan. She is survived by Miguel Vargas, her husband of 33 years; her mother, Cheryl Coyer and step-mother, Terry Wetherbee. Her six children, Miguel Vargas, Amalia Vargas, Ariana Vargas (Jeffrey Chandler), Alayna Mayer (Caleb Mayer), Mateo Vargas (Brianna Sting-Vargas) and Moises Vargas. Her beloved grandchildren, Fiona and Finn Mayer. Her brother and sister, Robert Wetherbee and Tina Nold. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. Dawn was predeceased by her father, James Wetherbee. Dawn’s principle joy in life was raising her six children. She enjoyed summers with her family in Michigan’s U.P., at her dad’s house on Hulbert Lake. Before Dawn passed, she noted that this would be the first year in 28 years she would not send a kid off to school. After raising her wonderful children, Dawn was able to accomplish her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. She earned a position working at Covenant Healthcare’s birth center. She loved caring for her patients and their new babies. She received countless praises for her above and beyond attention and care. Dawn touched lives with her loving spirit everywhere she went. After her diagnosis in 2018, Dawn passionately advocated for breast cancer awareness. In 2020 and again in 2022, Dawn realized “the joy of her heart” when she became a grandmother. Dawn’s hobbies included exploring the state with her husband, taking motorcycle trips and attending live music shows. In her free time, she was actively involved with the animal rescue community. Dawn and Mike are members at Grace Valley Church in Saginaw Township. Grace Valley is formerly First Assembly of God, where Dawn and Miguel were married on November 12, 1989. The family will be having a memorial gathering at Grace Valley Church, 4570 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw Twp., MI. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Pastor Kurt Cullison will officiate the service beginning at 12:00 noon.
