Louise N. Kleinschmidt

A Celebration of Christian Victory for Louise N. Kleinschmidt. It has pleased Almighty God in his wise providence to call out of this life into eternal life the soul of our beloved sister in Christ, Louise N. Kleinschmidt. Louise was given the gift of earthly life on July 23, 1930, in Chilton, Wisconsin, to the late Peter and Anna (Frank) Schmahl. Louise peacefully fell asleep in Jesus on Friday, January 3, 2025. Louise was the youngest of ten children, educated at St. Martin Lutheran School, Chilton High School and Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, IL (now Concordia Chicago). Prior to coming to Saginaw, she taught at St. Mark’s Lutheran School, North Tonawanda, NY. She taught at Holy Cross, Messiah and Bethlehem Lutheran schools in Saginaw for a total of 44 years. In Saginaw, Louise met the love of her life and was married to Robert E. Kleinschmidt on November 22, 1951. He entered eternal life on January 30, 2009. Their marriage was blessed with 3 loving children, Nancy (Gene) Peters of Saginaw, Lori (Robert) Adkins of Saginaw, and Jeffrey (Dana) Kleinschmidt of Ann Arbor, MI. Also, grandchildren Reverend Matthew (Meghan) Peters of Petoskey, Molly (Brian) McInnis, Freeland, Megan (Justin) Moore, Freeland, Emily (Seth) Illich, Austin, TX and Nicole Kleinschmidt of Ann Arbor, MI. Also, great grandchildren Benjamin and Ellie Peters, Petoskey, MI, Nathaniel and Lydia Moore, Freeland, MI and Sofia and Sullivan Illich of Austin, TX. Also many loving nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served on the Board of Education for many years. She also was a Stephen Minister and member of the Braille Group for 25 years, kept in touch with men and women in Military Service from Bethlehem Congregation, was President of the St. Luke’s Hospital Guild (now Covenant Healthcare) and served on the St. Luke’s Hospital Board (now Covenant Healthcare) and was the first female Board Member of the hospital. Reverand Charles Buckhahn will officiate the funeral service, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss St., Saginaw. Internment will take place at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. The family welcomes friends for visitation before the service from 10:00am to 11:00am. Memorial offerings are suggested to the Food Pantry at Bethlehem Lutheran or to Bethlehem Lutheran School.
