Mrs. Mary K. Campbell

Mary Kathryn Campbell of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the age of 87, while residing at Great Lakes Rehabilitation Center. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Mary Kathryn “Kate” Bolger was born on November 28, 1938, in Saginaw, Michigan, the youngest of eight children born to the late Jacob and Martha (Poppeck) Bolger. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1956. On November 11, 1972, she married Alwin E. Campbell. Together, they shared 42 years of marriage before Al’s passing in 2015. Mary and Al treasured time with their grandchildren, camping at their place in Harrison, and frequently getting in the car just to go for a drive. Mary spent much of her time sewing, quilting, knitting, and crafting, often sharing her God-given gifts with those around her. She was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church and retired from Severance Tool Industries after more than 50 years of dedicated service. Mary is survived by her children, Jacklyn Leachman; Richard Leachman; Mary and Christian Petroff; Sue Jacklin; Alwin D. (Butch) and Connie Campbell; Robert Campbell; and Phyllis Campbell; her two sisters, Elaine Foy and Darlene Burr; along with many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary’s passing reunites her with loved ones who went before her. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson and “little buddy,” Jacob Petroff; three brothers, Junior, Donald, and Robert Bolger; and two sisters, Helen Campbell and Willa D. “Jean” Hosterman. Mary spoke her mind and loved deeply in her own unmistakable way. Her presence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her love remains woven into the lives of those she cherished most. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. The family is deeply grateful to the staff at Great Lakes Rehabilitation Center and the Optimal Care Hospice team for their loving care and support, especially during Mary’s final days. Funeral and Committal services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. The Rev. William Hessler will officiate. Private burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
