Maxine M. O'Dette

Maxine Mary O'Dette 7/27/1919 - 6/24/2022 Maxine (Noyes) O'Dette, of Saginaw, passed away peacefully, at her home, on Friday, June 24, 2022, at the age of 102. Maxine Mary (Noyes) O'Dette was born on July 27, 1919, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late William E. and Jennie E. (Barror) Noyes. Maxine was married to Russell E. O'Dette, Sr. on August 30, 1941, and he predeceased her on April 2, 2016. They had seven children together, surviving are, Gloria (Larry) Griffin, Jackie Taylor, Lois (Ronald) Rivett, Russell (Mary Anne) O'Dette, Carol Hass, Yvonne (Bill) James, Dale (Holly) O'Dette; her sister, Lila Weighman; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Maxine is predeceased by her parents, William and Jennie Noyes; her husband, Russell O'Dette; her brothers, Edward Noyes, Francis Noyes, Robert Noyes; her sister, Evelyn Brown; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie O'Dette; her son's-in-law, David Taylor and Nick Haas. Maxine made fond memories raising a house full of children, such as baking, playing games and some special trips with her daughters to downtown Saginaw for a day of shopping, eating chocolate sundaes and experiencing the magic of the beautiful storefronts. Christmas was always a special time celebrating together by making homemade taffy and fudge on Christmas Eve. This special tradition carried on every Christmas Eve with the whole family getting together to celebrate with her. Later in life, Maxine enjoyed her times going to the casino, family gatherings and a long enough life that she had the honor to meet some of her great-great grandchildren. She was sharp and organized with an amazing memory. She loved to tell stories of growing up and the times she got to experience. She kept track and knew the birthdays of every one of her family members. Her children and grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She knew how to make everyone feel special and aware she was always thinking of them. Maxine's family will miss her soft spoken voice, loving nature and infectious laughter. She taught her family of love and appreciation. They are grateful for the number of years they got to spend with her by their side. Maxine's committal and burial service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at graveside in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 950 N. Center Road, Saginaw, Michigan, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Russell.
