Randall M. Dexter

Randall Mark Dexter Saginaw, Michigan Randy was called to his eternal home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from the Aleda E. Lutz, V.A. Medical Center, Saginaw, MI, at the age of 62 years, with his wife at his side following complications from Parkinson’s Disease. He was the loving husband to Patricia for 40 years; beloved father to Erica (Scott) Ostrom; proud Papa to Logan and Alyssa Ostrom; brother to Debra (Glenn) Harper and Marci Short; also aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack (Connie) Alfano, Terri (Rick) and Pfeuffer, Mike Alfano; and several friends. He was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nicholas and Dorothy Alfano. Randy Mark Dexter was born February 7, 1961, in Saginaw, the son of the late Marvin E. and Lorraine N. (Cholcher) Dexter. Randy was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and graduated from Arthur Hill High School, class of 1979. He enlisted in Michigan Army National Guard, serving 22 years before retiring in 2001. He was employed at Big Boy and Old Country Buffet for several years. He was an avid sports fan, including, Tigers baseball, Pistons basketball and Lions football, and working with a variety of word and number puzzles. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at Wakeman Funeral Home, 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, MI, on Monday, March 6, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Randy’s funeral service will take place 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 Court St., Saginaw, MI. Pastor Bob Riggs will officiate. Randy will then be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors conducted by the Michigan Army National Guard and American Legion Post #439. Memorials may be given to Disabled American Veterans, Parkinson’s Foundation or Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
