Mrs. Ruth M. Wissmueller

Mrs. Ruth M. Wissmueller Midland, Michigan Ruth passed away peacefully at 100 years of age on Thursday, January 5, 2023, while a resident at Avielle Haven Adult Foster Care in Midland, Michigan. Ruth Marie (Ruff) Wissmueller was born on February 20, 1922, in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of the late Edward Thomas and Inez Irene (Stone) Ruff. She was married to Emil Lawrence Wissmueller on December 20, 1941, in Saginaw, where he predeceased her on May 25, 1998. Ruth had been employed as an Educational Secretary for the Saginaw Board of Education for several years. She was a very active member of Jefferson Avenue and Grace United Methodist Church, Past President of United Methodist Women, Past President of Jessie Loomis PTA, served five years as President of the Saginaw Public Schools Secretary Association, Co-Founder and President of Saginaw Retirees Travel Club for 17 years, and Leader of Campfire Girls. Surviving are her three children and their spouses, Ruth Ann (Wayne) Windle, Brooklyn, MI; Larry (Jacquelyn) Wissmueller, Davenport, FL; Judi (James) Powers, Midland, MI; five grandchildren, Marla (William) Campbell, Trisha (Derrick) Gooch, Kerri Ann Wissmueller, Kurt (Michelle) Wissmueller, and Laurie MacArthur; eight great-grandchildren, Mia Popiolek, Duncan and Natalie Campbell, Brendan and Jocelyn Gooch, and Katelyn and Seth MacArthur and Ashleigh (Justin) Janulis; nieces and nephews, Beverly (John) Purcell, Terry (Shelia) Tatroe, Gary (Lisa) Wissmueller, and Cindy (Russ) DeSosa. Special family members to Ruth included: Shannon Rollin, James Rollin, Sue Tatroe, Richard Wissmueller, and Claudia (Mark) Ellison. Ruth was also predeceased by her sister Ursula (Melvin) Tatroe, grandson Jason MacArthur, niece Patricia Rollin, and nephew Timothy Tatroe. The Celebration of Ruth’s Life will take place 12:00 noon, on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Wakeman Funeral Home, 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, MI. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Ruth will then be laid to rest, next to her husband in Roselawn Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Avielle Haven Adult Foster Care Home, 2760 E.
