William John Gregor

William John Gregor went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at age 88, after several years of illness. Bill was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late John and Emilia Gregor. He leaves Sara, his loving wife of 59 years. His younger daughter, Darcy, passed away in 1999. Also, a sister Martha Arnold predeceased him. He leaves his dearly loved daughter, Cynthia J. and husband, Michael Korte. Bill was blessed with and so loved his grandchildren, Grace, Faith and Matthew (and fiancé, Rebecca Johnstone). Bill is survived by a brother, Richard Gregor and wife, Sharon, daughters Jennifer and Debra and family and nephew, Scott Arnold. He leaves a brother-in-law, Robert Brinson and wife, Connie; sisters-in-law, Judy Reed and family and Leslie Brinson and family. Bill graduated from James Rhodes High School in Cleveland and attended Fenn College. He served in the US Army in Korea from 1952 – 1954. He worked at Standard Oil for 17 years and retired from Ford Motor Company, Cleveland Casting Plant after 33 years. Bill was baptized at Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Cleveland and was a member--at one time serving as acting congregational president and lay assistant to the pastor before moving to Saginaw, Michigan 15 years ago. Bill also participated in two health mission trips serving the Lutheran Church in Honduras. Jesus said, “For what My Father wants is that all who see the Son and believe in Him should have eternal life. And I will raise them to life on the last day.” John 6:40 Out of love and concern for the health and well-being of family and friends who may wish to celebrate Bill’s life, a funeral service will be held at a later date at Ascension Lutheran Church in Saginaw, and a memorial service at Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Cleveland, with burial at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, Cleveland, OH. Pastor Julie Bailey will officiate.
