    Carl A. Burgess II

    June 3, 1948 - June 12, 2019

    Burgess II, Carl A. (Cab) Midland, Michigan Beloved, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He was 71 years old. Cab was born on June 3, 1948, in Saginaw, to the late Wanda M. (Benway) and Carl A. Burgess Sr. Cab was predeceased by his two brothers, Chester and Johnny Burgess. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by St. Luke’s Hospital for 30 years. Cab enjoyed life to the fullest. He was an avid sports fan, his favorite being hockey. Cab found a friend in any situation of life. He especially loved all of his nieces and nephews. He was the most amazing brother and uncle. He will be deeply missed. Cab is survived by his three sisters, Mary Jo Burgess, Reenie Burgess, Patti (Kevin) Little, all from Saginaw; his nieces, Melissa and Jennifer Baase, Kayla Little and her fiancé, Jeffrey Techlin; his nephews, James Burgess and his fiancé, Gina Sequin, Kevin Little II and wife Nicole, and Chadrick Welsh; along with 10 great-nephews, who loved their great-uncle Cabbie very much; also many wonderful and loving friends. The Celebration of Carl’s Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at the Wakeman Funeral Home, 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, MI. The Rev. Matthew Hauser will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Celebration. In accordance with Carl’s wishes, cremation will take place. Those wishing to express their sympathies may wish to consider donations to help with Carl’s end of life expenses, made out to Patricia Little. Per Carl’s wishes, all remaining funds will be donated to The Special Olympics in his honor.
