    Denise Michelle Brady (Lauka)

    January 17, 1953 - August 21, 2021

Denise “Niecie” Michelle Brady (Lauka) Saginaw Twp., Michigan Our mother, grandmother, sister and friend was placed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 21, 2021, after a lengthy battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Niecie was 68 years old. She was born on January 17, 1953, in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Raymond Lyle and Genevieve (Winieckie) Brady. She is survived by her children Raymond Brady Lauka, Jeshua (Annie) Lauka, Justin (Bri) Lauka, Tanner (Jill) Lauka, and Genevieve (Brandon Wakeman) Lauka; her grandchildren, Isaiah, Nolan, Tate, Elsa, Donovan, Levi, Gabe, Alvey, and Emilia; her brothers, Rick (Barb) Brady and Danford Brady, sister Mona (Dave Saltmarsh) Lamping, and sister-in-law Jean Brady, her loving partner and friend, Robert Lauka; many, many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Denise was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Donald James Brady, and her close aunts, Linnie Kolinski and Iris Pawlick. Denise lived a life that was firmly grounded in her faith, family, and friends. Warm and hospitable by nature, Denise loved to meet new people: learning about their lives, their family, and interests. She is one of the rare individuals that listened more than they spoke during conversations. Her kind, gentle, and authentic presence put even the most apprehensive guest at ease. Never one to brag, she would only do so when it came to her family to whom she was immensely proud of. A talented cook, visitors would leave her home with a full stomach and a deep sense of feeling valued. Denise enjoyed volunteering at the City Rescue Mission in Saginaw and other church outreach events, where she cared for children and families. She loved nature and animals, always filling her home with various pets that gravitated to her warm and comforting presence. Denise was an understated poet, having written many poems throughout her life, often centered on people, relationships, and love. Scarcely was the smallest letter or birthday card written that did not reflect a significant amount of forethought, consideration, and love. An unwavering Christian, Denise exemplified service to others and instilled these values into her children. She was buoyed by her faith, having complete confidence in the new home awaiting her for all eternity. She will be deeply missed by all. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Markie, Katie, Bill and Diane and the rest of the staff at Cardinal Hospice as well as Pastor Lon for their gentle loving care of their beloved Niecie. Denise's family will host a visitation on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., held at Wakeman Funeral Home, 1218 North Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan. In accordance with Denise's wishes, cremation will then follow. A public memorial service will be held at Saginaw First Assembly of God, 4570 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Lon Cook will officiate. A private burial and luncheon for immediate family will follow the service. Those wishing to express their sympathies may consider contributions to Saginaw First Assembly of God, Cardinal Hospice, or the Saginaw County Humane Society. Memories and sympathies of Denise may be shared with the family on her memorial website at WakemanFuneralHome.com
