Emerald (Red) Lentner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lentner, Emerald J. (Red) Bridgeport Twp., MI Red Lentner passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019, at the Aleda E. Lutz – V.A. Medical Center in Saginaw, at the age of 90 years. He was born on April 6, 1928, in Saginaw, to the late Julius and Hilda (Trautman) Lentner. Red served his country during WWII in the United States Army, he then was called back for duty during his reserve time, then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. Red married Dorothy Marie Weisheim on December 8, 1952, and she predeceased him on March 17, 2000. Prior to his retirement, Red was employed 35 years as a truck and fork lift operator for Lamar Pipe and Tile. Back in the day, Red was an avid hunter, hand-gun and long-gun collector; he enjoyed weightlifting, waterskiing, boating, snowmobiling and many other outdoor activities with his wife, family and friends. Red is survived by his sister and her husband, Lois (Richard) Faubert, his brother-in-law Don Perdue; several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, extended family and dear friends, especially his neighbor, Mark Blakley and family. Red was also predeceased by his sister, Verneta Perdue. In accordance with Red’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Red will be laid to rest, next to his wife Dorothy in Oakwood Cemetery, Saginaw Township, on Saturday, September 14, 2019, with Military Honors at 11:00 a.m., conducted under the auspices of the United States Army and V.F.W.
