Mr. Gerald (Jerry) Stroebel Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Stroebel, Mr. Gerald Wm. (Jerry), James Twp., Saginaw, MI The best husband, father, grandfather, and uncle was called home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, while under the care of New Hope Valley in Saginaw Township, following a lengthy illness, at the age of 84 years. Gerald William Stroebel was born on December 26, 1937, in Saginaw, to the late William Jacob Stroebel and Adeline Wilhemina Hulda Clare (Seidel) Stroebel. Jerry was married to Shirley Jane (Maier) Stroebel on July 11, 1959, in Saginaw, and after 56 years of marriage, Shirley was called to her Heavenly home on April 14, 2016. Jerry owned and operated Jerry Stroebel Trucking, while he also attended to the family farm. Jerry was an avid antique tractor collector and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Surviving are his sons, Dale (Terri) Stroebel, Alan (Ceal) Stroebel, and Wayne Stroebel, all of Saginaw; four grandchildren, Justin, Kyle and his fiancee’ Kristine, Allyson (Alan) Gedney and Emily Stroebel and her special friend, Marcin; also a great-grandson, William Paul Gedney. The family wishes to thank the staff at New Hope Valley and Cardinal Hospice for their loving care given to Jerry. The Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Christ Lutheran Church, 8795 Ederer Rd., James Twp. The Rev. Joshua Becker will officiate. Jerry will be laid to rest next to his wife, Shirley, in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Saginaw Township. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, on Friday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., then at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be given to Christ Lutheran Church.
