June 8, 1942 - August 10, 2020
Frank, Mrs. Leanne J. Frankenmuth, Michigan Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 10, 2020, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital. Leanne J. (Rossnagel) Frank was born on June 8, 1942, in Hammond, Indiana, to the late Walter and Erna (Retzlaff) Rossnagel. She was brought into the kingdom of God through her baptism on June 28th, 1942. She was married to George Frank on August 8, 1964, in Affton, Missouri and he survives her. Leanne is also survived by her children, Anne (Will) Ebel, Jon Frank and Mary (Trevor) Parks; her loving grandchildren, Jeanette, William, Hannah, and Olivia Ebel, Jada, Mia, and Silas Parks; her sister, Jeanine Bugg; brother-in-law, Ren (Kathy) Frank; sister-in-law, Maggie Strobel; also many other loving extended family and friends. Leanne was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Erna Rossnagel; in-laws, Carl and Flora Frank; daughter, Marlene Frank; brother, Ted Rossnagel; brother-in-law, Donald Bugg; brother-In-law, John Frank; sister-in-law, Judy Frank; brother-in-law, Fred Strobel. Prior to her retirement, Leanne worked as a Lutheran School Teacher in Aurora, Illinois, and at Holy Cross and Bethlehem Lutheran in Saginaw. She taught kindergarten and fourth grade. After retirement, she volunteered in a number of different capacities including tutoring, working in the school library, Stephens Ministries, MOPS, and helping with Sunday school. She sang in the senior choir, attended and led Bible Classes, enjoyed being part of the red hatters, various card clubs, exercise group at St. Lorenz, reading books, walking, riding her bike, and various sewing projects. She loved spending time with her 7 grandkids out on the farm. Leanne and George were blessed with good health and able to be active and travel often to various favorite destinations such as Blind River, Ontario, Mackinac Island, and Minnesota. While it is difficult to not list all of her numerous wonderful qualities and to describe her steadfast lovingkindness, it is clear that Leanne would have certainly hoped to leave no other legacy than to deflect all attention from what she has done for others to what Christ has done for her and for us all. This sentiment is poignantly and positively expressed in Leanne’s confirmation verse; II Corinthians 5:15 “And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and was raised again.” Due to the on-going health issues and gathering limitations, distancing is requested and face masks are required. Leanne’s visitation will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss, Saginaw, Michigan, on Friday, August 14, 2020, from 2:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. Leanne’s funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The Rev. Michael Korte will officiate, then Pastor Larry Hauser will conduct her committal and burial at St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Those wishing to express their sympathies are asked to consider memorial contributions to Bethlehem Lutheran Church and School or Valley Lutheran High School, in loving memory of Leanne. Memories and sympathies of Leanne may be shared with the family on her memorial website at WakemanFuneralHome.com
