    Mrs. Mary Reutter

    September 27, 1925 - January 8, 2010

    Reutter, Mrs. Mary of Saginaw, Michigan passed away Friday, January 8, 2010, at Covenant Medical Center, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. Mary was born on September 27, 1925, in Munger, MI to the late Anthony and Clara (Bukowski) Nashatka. She was married to Erich R. Reutter on July 10, 1944, in Phoenix City, AL, during WWII. He predeceased her on November 18, 1985. She was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, sang in the choir for many years, and was active in the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild. She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bay City, MI. Mary retired from St. Luke’s Hospital in 1984. She also worked at Goodwill Cleaners, volunteered at Luther Manor, and Bethesda Thrift Shop. She participated in a bowling league with her late husband, enjoyed crocheting, fishing, and special times with her grandchildren, niece’s and nephew’s. Surviving are two children, Dennis (Judi) Reutter, Bitely, MI; Susan Reutter, Saginaw, MI; five grandchildren, Tricia (Chris) Launstein, Saginaw, MI; Britt (Brian) Gilbert, Englewood, CO; Marcie Reutter and Nathaniel (Angie Wroten) Reutter, Grand Rapids, MI; Kyle (Ashley Johnson) Reutter, Denver, CO; nine great-grandchildren, Brendan, Kierstin, Jacob, David, Khalil, Elaina, Kendra, Noah and Liam; also a very special sister and brother, Sophia Shatzer and Leo (Julie) Nashatka, Bay City, MI.; beloved siblings, Stanley (Audrey) Gawlik, John (Betty) Gawlik, Frank (Joan) Gawlik, and Patsy (Ron) View; many nieces and nephews; three special sisters-in-law, Esther Holm, Las Vegas, NV, Velma Mueller, and Ruth (Al) Forster, Bay City, MI. Mary was preceded in death by her son, David E. Reutter in 1988, also six brothers and nine sisters. Funeral and committal services will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss St., Saginaw. The Rev. Charles F. Buckhahn will officiate. Private burial will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., then at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
