Mr. Ralph H. Merrow Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Passed away Monday, December 21, 2009, at The Lutheran Home of Frankenmuth. Age 92 years. Ralph was born on February 13, 1917, in Burt, Mich., son of the late Earl and Emma (Matzke) Merrow. Ralph served in the U S Army during WWII, and was honorably discharged on December 10, 1945. He married Sarah (Sal) Vaughan on October 31, 1936, in Saginaw, where she predeceased him on November 25, 1995. Prior to his retirement, Ralph was employed at the Chevrolet Transmission Plant. He was a member of American Legion Post #439. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Jane Merrow Jr., Rockport, Ky; four grandchildren, Tina Decker, Rockport, Ky; Chris Little, Traverse City, MI; Penny Scott, Fruitport, MI; and Chad Bauer, Fenton, MI; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; one son-in-law, Dave Bauer, Hemlock, MI. He was predeceased by his daughter, Danny Bauer. Funeral Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009, at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. Rev. Ralph H. Merrow, Jr. will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery, where military honor guard will be conducted under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Sunday, December 27, 2009, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., then on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
