Mr. Robert H. Creer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Creer, Mr. Robert H., Saginaw, Michigan Bob passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center-Cooper. Age 84 years. Robert Henry Creer was born on September 8, 1929, in Saginaw, MI to the late Albert and Helen (Conrad) Creer. He was first married to Lorine E. Schiefer on July 11, 1953. She predeceased him on December 6, 2001. He then married Lillian F. Ormsby (Freyre) on May 16, 2003. She survives him. He had served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at GM/Saginaw Steering Gear as a forklift driver for 37.5 years. Throughout his life, Bob and his “Enchanting Family of Magic” enjoyed performing and entertaining groups, clubs, social organizations, and traveling to numerous event gatherings with his magical family. Bob was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He had served on various boards, before its merging with Messiah Lutheran Church, where he had continued with his faithful worship. His memberships included the S.A.M., Society of American Magicians, I.B.M, International Brotherhood of Magicians, and Dr. Boris Zola - Ring 212. Bob is survived by his wife, Lillian, and his children, Catherine M. (Don) Wight, Helen L. (John Tilt) Ashmore and Michael R. Creer, all of Saginaw; his grandchildren, Trevor (Sarah) Ashmore, Ryan Ashmore, James and Melissa Creer; step-children, Joseph (Mary Ellen) Freyre; step-grandchildren, Julieanna, Joseph and Jenilynn Freyre; brothers-in-law, Marvin Schiefer and Arnold Webber; sister, Carolynn (John) Harris, several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his infant son, James A. Creer. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4640 N. Michigan. The Rev. Philip DeVries will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be performed by the American Legion Post #439. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., then at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service.
