Theodore Damzyn Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

DAMZYN, MR. THEODORE Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015, at St. Mary’s of Michigan. Age 88 years. Theodore Damzyn was born on May 4, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Michael and Tillie (Pargyka) Damzyn. He married Jean C. Rockwell on May 31, 1952, in Saginaw, where she predeceased him on April 29, 2006. He had served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by F & B Service Parts for over 40 years. He was a long-time member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church on Brockway. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Surviving are his son and daughter, Barry L. Damzyn, Saginaw, Wendy (Danny) DeGeus, St. Charles; two grandchildren, Gabrielle Michelle Millar and Ian Michael Millar; one brother and two sisters, Stephen Preslupski, Saginaw, Alice Housner, AZ, Katy (Robert) Temple, AZ; several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his infant son, Timothy Damzyn, and his brothers, John and William Damzyn, and his sister, Mickey Magyar. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 4705 Brockway Rd. The Rev. Daniel P. Garbow will officiate with burial in Owen Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted under the auspices of VFW Post 1859, Carrollton/Zilwaukee. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., then at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service. Memorials may be given to St. John’s Ev.
