Mrs. Virginia Lee Almy Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Almy, Mrs. Virginia Lee, of Saginaw Twp. passed away in her sleep on Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Babion’s AFC Home in Merrill. Age 86 years. Virginia was born on January 28, 1924, in Massies Mill, VA to the late Albert C. and Emma Josephine (Creasman) Coates. She was married to Clifford G. Almy on March 17, 1945, and he predeceased her on January 9, 1991. Surviving are her two children and their spouses, William H. (Wilma) Almy, Hemlock; Barb (John) Parrott, Saginaw Twp.; five grandchildren, George F. (Debbie) Almy, William D. (Debbie) Dewey, Marcie Jo Main; Amanda Himmelspach (Jim Showalter), Jocinda (Brian) Hirt; 12 great-grandchildren, Emma, Quinn, Kasey, Elliott, Bryce, Dante’, Brittany, Jessica, Nicole, Hannah and Jacob; one great-great-grandchild, Lukius; one sister, Mary Coates, Lynchburg, VA. She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister, Herman, William, Joe and Alma. The family wishes to thank Babion’s AFC Home of Merrill and Southern Care for their wonderful care they gave to Virginia. Also many thanks to the wonderful neighbors who kept an eye on her while she lived at home. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2010, at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. Chaplain Bob Metevia will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 – 8:00 pm., then on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
