COLLVER, MR. WELCOME G. “POPS” Skidway Lake, Prescott, Michigan Welcome passed away Friday morning, April 8, 2016, at his home following a lengthy illness. Age 79 years. He was born on December 4, 1936, in Saginaw, to the late Melvin and Florence (Cutting) Collver. Welcome had served in the U.S. Army Michigan National Guard, during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was a truck driver for years, then retiring from Wolgast. Welcome was married to Nancy K. (Lamblin) Collver on October 6, 2001, and she survives him. He was a member of God’s Covenant Church in Prescott. He is also survived by his children, John Collver, Mike (Terri) Collver, Michelle Collver, Trudy (Darrell) Bitler; seven grandchildren, Lance, Graham and Grace Bitler, Chrisi Walker, Amber Harbin, Joe and Justin Greene; one great-granddaughter, Raeannah; one brother, Ted (Phyllis) Collver; three sisters, Ione Brady, Lilly Diechman and Anna Allen; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Harry and Melvin Collver; and his sister, Norma Garno. Funeral and Committal services will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. The Rev. James McDowell will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his services. Memorial contributions may be considered to the family.
