Mrs. Elaine L. Roekle

Roekle, Mrs. Elaine L. Thomas Twp., Michigan Elaine passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2019, under the care of Wellspring of Frankenmuth, at the age of 94 years old. Elaine Louise (Ingersoll) Roekle was born on October 28, 1924, in Traverse City, MI, to the late Leo E. and Margaret (Potrafke) Ingersoll. She was married to Gerald A. Roekle on February 14, 1947, in Anchorage, Alaska. After 49 years of marriage, Gerald predeceased her on April 17, 1996. Prior to her retirement, Elaine had worked in Women’s OB as a Registered Nurse for 40 years. She was a member of the Saginaw Medical Assistance Chapter. She also was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she sang in the Choir, served on the Altar Guild. Elaine made many quilts, hats and mittens over the years, she also enjoyed reading and was an avid Tiger’s Fan. She was also a member of the Saginaw Medical Assistants Chapter, the Happy Seniors and Lutheran Mixed Doubles Bowling Leagues. Elaine will be missed by many, especially her family; her daughter and her husband, Patricia (Tom) Turner; her daughter-in-law, Lucille Roekle; her grandchildren, Bradley (Michaela) Roekle, Kristy (Jaret) Slack, Thomas Turner; her great-grandchildren, Aaron Slack, Josh Slack, Adelyn Roekle, Judah Roekle, Braven Roekle; her in-laws; also several nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Elaine was also predeceased by her grandson, James Adam Turner; her son, David Roekle, her brother, Robert Ingersoll and several other in-laws. The family wishes to thank Samaritan, Shields Comfort Care and Wellspring Lutheran Home of Frankenmuth and Hospice for all the loving care given to Elaine. Elaine will be laid to rest next to her husband in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Elaine’s memorial service will be held 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss, Saginaw, MI. The Rev. Michael R. Korte will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her memorial service. Memorial contributions may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or to Saginaw General Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.
